Lakota Beading and other Crafts
Medicine Bags ~ Rattles ~ Fans ~ Jewelry ~ Drums~ Pipe Bags

We are now selling the craft work of several Lakota elders and families from the Pine Ridge Reservation.   Below are some examples of the sort of items that are available.

Although we sell the items at local craft events and by appointment out of our home, an easy way to see what is available and to make purchases is to visit us at lakotacraftsproject.com

Note that the items pictured below are examples of the sort of things that we sell.  If you visit our auctions and don't see what you're looking for, you can contact us to see if such an item will be listed soon.

We often have medicine bags that incorporate wolf, coyote, and buffalo.  Crow items are also a specialty.

Additionally, we do have medicine bags and other items made from materials that cannot be sold on ebay, such as bear fur and teeth.

The Native American Arts & Crafts Act of 1990

In advertising goods or merchandise, it is against the law to state or even to imply that craft items are  "Native American made" unless the craftsperson is a member of a tribe that has state or federal recognition.

For details read the U.S. Code on this subject,
18 USC, Section 1159  (1993)  Failure to comply can result in a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.  That is for a single violation, subsequent violations carry even larger penalties.

Any products that we advertise or sell as "Native American made" come with a tag that includes the artist's name, tribe, tribal roll #, and community.

Please buy only true "Native American" crafts.  It is not only the respectful thing to do, it is also in compliance with the law!
